Veterinary Financial Aid

We recommend contacting as many organizations as you qualify for – many have a maximum award amount.

 

Care Credit:  1-800-677-0718 A credit card for veterinary expenses. 

Scratch Pay: 855-727-2395 Payment plan for medical financing. Please check to see if your veterinarian participates. 

P.A.C.K. – People for Animal Care and Kindness: requires you to apply for Care Credit and Scratch Pay first. packcares@gmail.com 

iCare Financial:  Please work with your vet to apply online. Immediate funding for your pet with no credit check. Payment plan for veterinary bills. Your vet and/or clinic that your animal is being treated at must apply on your behalf. 

Rainier Animal Fund: 844-723-8387 Provides essential veterinary care to families who cannot afford the full cost of treatment. Check the guidelines to see if you qualify.

Red Rover: 916-429-2457 In addition to general veterinary assistance, this organization also has great lists to search for local, breed, and condition-specific options and fundraising suggestions. 

The Pet Fund: 916-443-6007 Provides assistance with veterinary care. All applicants are required to contact The Pet Fund by phone before applying for funding. They are not equipped to handle requests for emergency care. 

Frankie’s Friends: 888-465-1921 Has a general fund for assistance with veterinary costs, as well as several different funds for more particular circumstances.

Pet Assistance, Inc.: Financial assistance for vet medical needs. This organization will not cover services in emergency situations. 

Rose’s Funds for Animals: Provides assistance with veterinary care. 

Friends and Vets Helping Pets provides funds for curable (lifesaving, not life-prolonging) diseases. Financial aid is intended to supplement family resources. 

Budkis Fund: It provides financial assistance for low-income senior citizens in the Puget Sound area. 

Brown Dog Foundation: Offers guidance and referral to low-cost alternatives for pet care. 

The Mosby Foundation: Non-Emergency financial aid for dogs. Cannot assist with diagnostics or core vet care (vaccines, spay/neuter.) 

Magic Bullet Fund (cancer-specific): Fundraising assistance for cancer treatment. 

Harley’s Hope Foundation: Assistance for low-income pet parents when medical issues arise. 

STARelief and Pet Assistance: Provides life-saving pet food and veterinary care, emergency boarding, and foster care to pets whose caretakers are struggling with financial hardship. 

Onyx and Breezy Foundation: Provides funding and support for several different issues, including medical. Requires approval/denial proof of Care Credit. 

Violet’s Friends: Helps with nonemergency medical/surgery/therapy costs. 

Hope Mending Hearts: Grant for urgent medical care. Must apply for Care Credit to be eligible. 

Murphee and Sugar Foundation: Financial assistance of up to $500 for critically ill pets. 

Humane Society of Tacoma and Pierce County: This fund provides veterinary financial assistance for low-income Pierce County and Federal Way residents. It is made possible by a grant from a private family foundation. Proof of income is required, and applications are available in person at the Humane Society. 

Seattle Humane Society: Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine Good Samaritan Fund: 509-335-4835 contact Kay Glaser kayann@wsu.edu  Program that provides financial support by letting veterinary students treat animals at WSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital. 

Paws 4 A Cure: A one-time grant for veterinary care up to $500. Requires applicants to apply for multiple grants/assistance. 

Diabetic Cats in Need: Helps with the cost of diabetic medical supplies for cats. 

Tripawds ASAP: Assistance for dogs and cats who require amputation surgery.

Pets of the Homeless: A list of resources for displaced families with pets. 

Hearts United for Animals: Provides low-cost spay/neuter, can assist with veterinary expenses, and provides temporary housing for animals fleeing domestic violence. Helps with rehoming and may be able to take pets who cannot be placed due to medical or behavioral issues. Must have been denied for Care Credit prior to applying. 

Paws of Bainbridge Island (Bainbridge & North Kitsap County): 206-842-2451 or 888-558-PAWS (7297). Apply by Phone. Provides low-income families with emergency financial aid for veterinary expenses. Offers assistance with pet food and free or low-cost spay/neuter. 

Four Paws Lifeline (Tulalip, WA):   Financial assistance to pet owners for emergency vet care. Funds are limited and they may only be able to contribute a portion of what is needed. 

Concern for Animals (Lewis, Mason, and Thurston counties):  360-456-8176 (Apply by Phone). Provides financial assistance for spay/neuter and emergency vet care.

The Pet Fund: Works ONLY on non-basic, non-urgent care.

Doney Memorial Pet Clinic: – NO WEBSITE – Located at the Union Gospel Mission Shelter at 318 2nd Avenue Extension South, Seattle, WA 98104.  This is financial aid for pets of very low income and homeless people.  2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month 206-622-5177
